Hello Folks:

There have been some new additions to our group lately, & I've been in & out w/my book editing. How 'bout we get to know each other a bit w/an intro on who we are, what we do, why we joined this network, & anything new & exciting in our lives that we'd like to share w/everyone else.

Please jump right on in . . . if you don't, I'll take a page from some of the other networks & start "tagging" you!

Blessings, & thx -- Linda

Christina Daly
Hi,

My name is Christina Daly and I am a widow, Mother and soon to be Grandmother. I own a business called Concierge for Business.

I have been a member of Ryze for a few years and enjoy many of the discussion groups; this being one. I find the world of Hollywood fascinating. So much creative talent and so many egos! It's nothing if not colourful. Many have the wrong impression of southern California. I see it as a Mecca for creativity. My son graduated from college with a degree in Advertising and an emphasis in art; most of the really good creative jobs were in southern California.

For the past several years, Hollywood has taken a bigger part in politics and the presence is mostly liberal...which makes sense for creatives to look to progressive leadership. I joined this network to learn more about this and to participate in the discussion.

Dish it to us Lady Linda!

Apr 04, 2007 2:15 amHello Lovely Linda and Cool Christina!#

amanda tomasoa
Thank you for this opprotunity Linda to express who I am. :) And thanks Christina for sharing about yourself. Pretty cool to see you taking steps to learning more about what is going on! :)

My name is Amanda Tomasoa and I am a New Zealand Artist going Global. I was born in Malaysia but my art career started in my husband's country of Indonesia back in.....1995. Things were great till Political situation chased me out of the country.

My husband Ronny used to be a full time singer for 20plus years and now works for a big company as a cashier for meagre pay. He wants out and I hope he will be able to find something much better to do! His golden voice is being wasted. :) We have a fantastic son and he will soon turn 16.

I am going to have my 5th solo Art show soon Starting April 10 til 27 so if you know of anyone interested in buying art or reviewing art or looking, please send them my way! :) I am in New Zealand... :P

I plan to use my art to raise awareness of social issues, bring in funds to support my social work and am hoping to raise funds for a youth helpline because there are too many youth suicide in NZ. :(

God willing, I hope to bring my art to the USA someday! :)

Looking forward to learning more about you and about the issues you face.

Amanda

Debra Shiveley Welch
Christina, I was just thinking this morning that most of the world's greatest talent has migrated to California, and all because one day some one said "Let's make movies in California where the sun shines all the time."

Amanda, how are you! I'm so glad that you have a new show coming up. I hope you are feeling good and strong and are ready to rock n' roll!

Okay, I am Debra Shiveley Welch. I am an author, but the job I love the most is being mother to Christopher Shiveley Welch, who will be 15 on May 1. 15!!!

Chris is adopted and was born with cleft lip and palate. You will find that most of my writing is about my sweet son. I just can't help myself!

I have three books out right now: "A Very Special Child," a children's book which explains adoption in a loving and spiritual way (see!), "Christopher Bullfrog Catcher," written by my son when he was 11, which I scribed and wrote the introduction for, and "Jesus Gandhi Oma Mae Adams," a murder mystery co-authored with my cousin.

I am now working on "The Adoption of Christopher," (told ya so!) and Chris is working with me on its companion cook book "Christopher's Family Table."

My husband, Mark, is HR VP for a large utility company, and on July 18, we will be married 20 years. YIKES!

I'm wild about animals, and believe that life without a dog is no life! LOL

Hello All,
My name is Karlyn and I live in Southern California with my husband and kids.
I teach and also work online doing design.

I joined this group because I enjoy discussing celebrities and Hollywood.. especially the classic era of Hollywood where my great-aunt Irene was the costume designer for many well known movies of the period.

Hello Folks:

Thx to everyone who posted. I know there are more out there!! ; >

Christina: I enjoy your posts on the networks to which we both belong. You're a deep thinker, a thoughtful community member & I'm thrilled to have you w/us. It's been awhile since I've been in Hollywood but I hope to change that when my book comes out. I'd like to do one of the debuts there. Pls share your thoughts on Tinseltown any time!

Amanda: I found you delightful from the 1st note I saw you post, not long ago! Your sweetness & the artist in you will be a wonderful part of this group.

Debra: What can I NOT say about you?! You've become a dear friend & you share my writer's heart. Your command of the visual side of the written word is amazing. You add so much to any discussion.

Karlyn: Also an artistic soul! I love your graphics site; what a neat-o banner. Your great-aunt's stories are fascinating, & I hope you'll share some w/us. While we're "Hollywood & Politics," there's SO much Old Hollywood to fascinate us. We have only to look to the stories.

Kathy: My prayers are w/you & your family. I appreciate that you checked in. Please keep us up-to-date & if there's anything I can do, even a shoulder, pls let me know.

I hope to hear from the others out there . . . would love to get your intro up here, too!

Blessings -- Linda

Frederick A. Babb
Hello to all,

While no stranger to Linda, I am probably unknown to the rest here.

I am a mild manner Utilities Manager for a U.S. military base in Southern Spain during the day and an author by night. Currently I have five books in print...mostly romance novels.

I enjoy debates where I can express my opinions as well as learn from those with different points of views. As I find more free time, I hope to be more active here.
